ATBA Board Member Heidi Steffan and Executive Director Lee Miller stop for a picture during the 2021 ATSC Members Meeting

Leaders in the ATSC 3.0 space came together last week in Washington at a much different annual meeting than any year before. Confined to a virtual meeting in 2020, the 2021 meeting was significantly bigger in attendance than anyone would have imagined! The excitement of the new standard being rolled out nationwide and tools coming to bear also is much more than expected. Original estimates of sets sold in the U.S. by the end of the year was at 750,000. Revised recently at 2.1 million – and now could top over 4 million ATSC 3.0 compatible sets by the start of 2022.
