In July 2020, Philip Falcone exited HC2 Holdings‘ top slot under some not-so-favorable circumstances. There were accusations that he defaulted on loans, resulting in HC2’s next chief executive, Wayne Barr Jr., signing off on non-core asset divestments in order to raise capital.
