ATEME to support first public demo for ATSC 3.0

The broadcasting and technology partners worked together to deliver the Winter Games from PyeongChang to an audience at an event at North Carolina State University, in 4K. Marking the first over-the-air broadcast of the new Dolby AC4 format, the transmission used Layer Division Multiplexing technology and new interactive applications to enhance the TV experience for viewers.

“This transmission is a fantastic demonstration of the new broadcast television standard, and we’re thrilled to have been involved in such a pioneering project,” said Walid Hamri, VP of solutions and business development at ATEME. “ATSC 3.0 represents the future of technology in this industry, and our TITAN compression solution utilised in this Winter Games presentation is helping to offer the ultimate new viewing experience.”
