NRB this week unveiled a website to help its members and their constituents stand up for Christian TV ministries in advance of the FCC auction of television broadcast spectrum scheduled for this spring.  SaveChristianTV.com is set up to specifically draw attention to the precarious situation of “low power television” (LPTV) stations that are not designated “Class A.”

Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of NRB, wanted to make sure ministries were paying close attention to the status of stations on which they rely to reach viewers.  After noting that a number of LPTV stations may not have a place on the air after the auction, particularly if the FCC prioritizes unlicensed spectrum users over licensed TV stations, Dr. Johnson told NRB members, “Congress must act to ensure Christian LPTV stations are protected or fairly accommodated as they seek to continue their ministries.”

SaveChristianTV.com features public service announcements provided for free use.  In addition, the site includes a portal by which individuals can easily contact their Members of Congress on this subject.

In his note, Dr. Johnson urged, “If your ministry’s ability to serve viewers could be impaired, now is the time to make your voice heard.  Please check out and take full advantage of SaveChristianTV.com.”
