After years of hyping the frightening concept of a looming spectrum apocalypse, the press slowly appears to be realizing there wasn’t much of a crisis. Just a year or two ago the mainstream press was packed with stories about the spectrum crisis we’re all facing, repeating fear mongering nonsense fed to them by lobbyists and carrier spokesmen. But as it became clear that most large and deep-pocketed companies are able to get the spectrum they need (through engineering, innovation, or deals) it has been amusing to watch the tonal shift in press coverage of the sector.
